We sat down with a bunch of artists from the Stencil label recently to find out how their year was going. One of those bands was The Kings of Mars, who are about to release a new album! Find out more below!

How is 2018 treating you so far?
This has been a great year for us! We’ve had to go through some lineup changes, but our shows have been going well and we’re about to release our next album!
Have you released any music so far this year? If so, what can you tell us about that?
We’ve released two singles, For a Ride and Tigress, that have done very well with our fans so far. They were recorded a lot differently than our previous projects. For these songs, we recorded the band in segments instead of doing it all together. Also, our keyboardist, Randy Deadman, and our trumpeter, Jason Deran, mixed, mastered and produced these songs.
Are you working on any new music at the moment? What are you working on, and when will it be released?
We just put the last touches on our new album, Bleach and Aspirin. It’s five tracks that we poured our little hearts into so follow us on all our social media/Spotify/Apple Music pages to listen to it! It will be released on October 26th!
Have you got any upcoming tours planned? If so, where are you playing and where are you looking forward to going most?
We’re headed to Michigan in December for a show with Melophobix. Then we’ll be setting up some dates for shows in other major Midwest cities. We’ve played in Michigan a couple times and it is definitely one of our favorite states to visit!
Who/what has influenced you the most as musicians?
All of us went/are still in school studying music. I can safely speak for the band when saying we all have a deep passion for music and really want this to become a full-fledged career. Being able to do what we love for a living has been our main motivation behind this band.
What have you been listening to recently that you can recommend to our readers?
If you haven’t heard Mac Miller’s latest album yet, you definitely should! That’s all I’ve been listening to lately.
Why do you think people should pick up one of your records or come and see you live, and what can people expect from one of your shows?
We have so many members in this band with such a wide range of influences that there’s something in our songs for everyone. We combine our musical chops with a passion for songwriting and hooks, so you’ll have the songs stuck in your head, but you’ll still appreciate the musicianship. We put a lot of work into practicing for our live shows. You can expect tight playing and a lot of energy. We also love throwing in some fun covers, so you definitely need to experience our music in person at some point.
Any last words for the fans?
Thanks for reading! We really appreciate any chance to get our music heard so big shout out to YOU if you read this and checked us out!
