Pokkisham is a St. Albans-based experimental pop artist who I first discovered for the blog at the end of last year. Impressed by her ability to defy genre, I was excited to hear more from her. Her latest is called Split.

Split opens with a funky percussion and electric organ combo. It oozes jazziness and coolness. Then Pokkisham’s emotive and soulful vocals float in to complete the picture, telling a story of heartbreak and infidelity.
If that wasn’t enough, the track comes complete with a lyric video that brings the story to life in vibrant neon. You can check it out below. Split is another corker from an artist who is a must listen for anyone who is a fan of modern jazz and soul.
