We first discovered Bristol-based singer songwriter Phoenix Mundy when she was performing as Patchwork Guilt. The performing name may have changed but the freshness and quality of her music hasn’t. Her latest is called Cologne.

Cologne has a dreamy feel to it, barely-there bass percussion gives things depth while echoing guitar sets the early pace. Phoenix’s haunting vocals join in, expressive and thoroughly unique. As the track progresses, it hits an electronic groove and the well-constructed chorus feels like pure indie rock.
With influences as broad as Pink Floyd and Lorde, it’s hardly surprising that Phoenix’s music channels so many genres. You really won’t find much out there like her and we’re all the better for her music.
You can watch the video for Cologne below.
