After the festival’s biggest and fastest-selling first announcement, today Slam Dunk Festival is excited to announce the second wave of artists joining this year’s already huge line-up. With an impressive discography spanning over the last two decades, Underoath have firmly cemented themselves as a progressive force in heavy rock and will be making their Slam Dunk Festival debut next summer with a rare UK performance. Seminal Swedish skate-punk band Millencolin have also been added to the Slam Dunk Festival announcement today. Also announced today are Australian pop-punk heavy hitters Trophy Eyes, who will be returning to Slam Dunk Festival next summer. After repeatedly storming their way through festival stages and leading the way as an anthemic live force, this five-piece promise to deliver a memorable set at Temple Newsam and Hatfield Park next May. Fresh off their recent UK tour, Dragged Under are also amongst the names set to be heading to Slam Dunk Festival next year. The Seattle four-piece renowned for their genre-bending blend of thrashed-up punk and crowd-ripping hardcore metal will be sure to cause a ruckus. Often described at the forefront of the ‘emo’ or ‘post-hardcore’ scene, Ohio four-piece Hawthorne Heights are also amongst the latest names to just be announced. The quartet are guaranteed to lead the way with a set packed full of crowd pleasers during their Slam Dunk Festival debut. Describing themselves as a band not for the faint-hearted, Heriot are a fast-rising force tipped as one of Britain’s most exciting metal bands. They will be bringing their high-energy set to Slam Dunk Festival next year and are ones not to be missed. After already announcing two super special exclusive reunion shows from Kids in Glass Houses and The Academy Is, Slam Dunk Festival is excited to throw in two more pop-punk rocker bands into the exclusive reunion mix in the shape of Yellowcard and Fireworks. After exchanging a series of tweets earlier this month which lead to sealing the deal with the band, Slam Dunk Festival are proud to confirm pop-punk favourites Yellowcard who will be heading to the festival to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ocean Avenue. Completing this wave of reunion exclusives are Fireworks. First formed in 1993, Fireworks are set to make their comeback and are promised to leave as festival highlights next year. |
