Jean~Baptiste has returned to our pages a few times now since first hitting my radar at the end of last year. His bright originality and dedication to old school hip-hop sensibilities has earned his music a special place in my heart. His latest is no exception. A dissection of the idea of making it big, it’s called i AM THE FUTURE.

The track opens with hard-hitting bass beats that set the mood from the off. Jean~Baptiste’s flows are laidback but well-constructed, with lyrics that delve deep while reassuringly holding your hand through its cerebral journey. i AM THE FUTURE may well be his best track yet.
