Plastic Barricades is the London-based alternative rock act led by Dan Kert. They first hit our radar back in 2019 when Jane interviewed them. Now they’re back, with a new line up but with Dan still at the helm. Their latest track is called Lucid In The Fall.

Lucid In The Fall was written during the seemingly never-ending coronavirus lockdown. It seems a long time ago now but that unique psychological era led Dan to think about the human condition, and how we are conscious of our habits but let them overtake us anyway. The concept is driven home by a melodic rock arrangement and an AI-generated music video that provides a distorted reflection of consumerism.
The single release comes complete with a B-side. Tallest Trees provides a counterpoint to the cynicism of Lucid In The Fall, observing the long-term wisdom of nature to contrast the short-term foolishness of humanity. It also has an AI music video which you can check out below.
Lucid In The Fall will feature on Plastic Barricades new album We Stayed Indoors, set for release early next year.
