Interview: Love Ghost

Love Ghost is one of the most interesting artists I’ve heard for a long time, mixing together elements of rap, trap, pop-punk, electronica, rock and mariachi music within their music. It certainly makes for an intriguing listen, as I found out on their track, Ghost Town. We’ll also be doing a review of their EP, Venganza Del Fantasma, soon, so look out for that too!

By Jane Howkins

How was your 2022?

2022 was a hard year for me. I lost a lot of things that I loved, but I was able to have some truly unique and special experiences. The devil and god work together so you could say.

You recently released a single titled Ghost Town. What can you tell us about the track?

The song was recorded in Mexico with the artist Santa RM. I had a horrible stomach pain at the time of recording.

How has the reception to Ghost Town been so far, and where can the song be purchased?

The reception has been great – particularly in Mexico. We have had a lot of press there, and there were a number of billboards in Mexico City promoting the song. You can buy the song on iTunes or stream it on any other streaming platform.

Do you plan to release any more singles in the coming months?

We just released a collaborative EP called tales of a sad boy on January 13th. And we are literally always dropping new music so stay tuned on our socials for that.

An EP titled Venganza Del Fantasma was released in December. What can you tell us about the EP?

The EP is in half English and half Spanish, and it was made when I went down to Mexico. It’s an emotional piece of art and I hope you enjoy it when you listen to it.

Do you plan to release an full-length album anytime soon?

Yes I am currently working on that right now.

Your music mixes together a number of different genres. What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

I’m inspired by Alice In Chains, Radiohead, Weezer, Lil Peep and Lana Del Ray to name a few. Lately I have been on a big Radiohead binge though.

Where do you get your ideas from? What is the writing process like?

I get my ideas from my experiences. I’m massively emotional and I have horrible anxiety. I wish it wasn’t that way because it makes my life painful, but on the plus side it gives me a lot to write about.

You’re based in Glendale. What is the music scene like in your part of the world?

In Glendale? Hahahaha, non-existent. There’s lots of cool music and sub-cultures in the greater Los Angeles area though. So I enjoy that.

Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?

Not at the moment, but London is my favorite city so I hope to be back soon.

Any last words for the fans?

Thanks for your support, I appreciate it.
