This summer tens of thousands of music fans will descend on the Peak District over a weekend at the popular Y Not Festival. From Friday, July 28 until Sunday, July 30, the beautiful Derbyshire countryside will host the top music festival.
This year’s rendition has some big boots to fill after the 2022 festival sold out for the first time in five years. Postponements in 2020 and 2021 mainly contributed to this but a stellar lineup boasting big-name acts like The Kooks, The Courteeners and Stereophonics certainly helped.
Headlining this summer are award-winning alternative duo Royal Blood, rock giants Kasabian, legendary musician Paul Weller, plus Ivor Novello winners Bombay Bicycle Club will get the party started early on Thursday. Further additions to the line-up include pop star on-the-rise Maisie Peters, celebrated rockers The Charlatans, chart-topping icon Sophie Ellis-Bextor, BRIT Award winner Kate Nash, Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, and many more.
What started as a house party in 2005 has grown into a full-blown festival in one of Derbyshire’s most beautiful areas. Organisers say the event still has “the same ethos at heart” and that campers are guaranteed to enjoy “amazing music, great food and carefree fun in the heart of the beautiful Peak District.”
It’s a festival worth attending – watch this space for more in the future!
