Paige Keiner is a Nashville, USA-based pop singer songwriter who has just come to my attention thanks to her vulnerable yet upbeat new track Crying in the Drive-Thru.
By Graeme Smith
Crying in the Drive-Thru is based on a true story. Paige, fresh from a break-up, got overwhelmed by her pain while picking up a meal at McDonald’s. She balances the emotion and the humour of the situation well in the lyrics while the instrumentals give a vibrant pop rock energy that feels very tuned into the zeitgeist.
Paige grew up in Florida on a diet of her dad’s power pop and rock favourites and ’00s pop artists like Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne and Hillary Duff. All those classic influences come through strongly in Crying in the Drive-Thru. You can give it a listen below.
