It’s been a while since we’ve heard a song by Canadian musician Stevie Zita, so new release Onyx Eyes is very welcome indeed!

Onyx Eyes tells the tale of somebody falling in love while looking into big dark eyes, hence the title of the tune. In terms of the music, it’s something of a dreamy pop song, with a slight psychedelic edge to it. Stevie’s vocals are a little raw sounding, but they work surprisingly well here, able to portray the passionate viewpoint in the lyrics. The guitars sound really nice too, swirling around in the background against the rhythm section. It won’t be for everyone, but give this a chance and you may fall in love!
