New Music: Phoenix Mundy – Ghost Tour

Bristol-based Phoenix Mundy has featured on our blog a couple of times now. She first came to our attention back in September last year thanks to her track Dance Class (released under the name Patchwork Guilt). That was quickly followed by a share of her video Cologne. Now I’m pleased to welcome her back with her latest, Ghost Tour.

By Graeme Smith

Ghost Tour is a wonderfully textured bedroom pop number. A looping electronic melody sets the early pace, creating a sense of mystery before developing into something brooding and provocative. By the time Phoenix’s ethereal vocals come in, you’re completely hooked. The lyrics tell a nostalgic story of being young and delighted by all things tacky.

Phoenix has been making music since 2014 and has released three albums. It feels like she’s building to a breakthrough with her recent work. Keep an eye out for her name.
