Pocklington Arts Centre have announced funding awarded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to replace their current auditorium seating.
The existing seats are being offered for sale to collectors/upholsterers or indeed another small venue who may wish to upcycle or restore these vintage items. The bulk of the seating stock will be listed for sale on selling sites, such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and Gumtree, for pick up only. There will be a selection of seats available for individual purchase through Pocklington Arts Centre for uplift during the first week of January 2024.
Angela Stone, Director of Pocklington Arts Centre, said: “We’re delighted to offer the opportunity to purchase a slice of our heritage. We will also be retaining three of the existing seats in our auditorium to mark historical relevance, and these will remain available to book. Additional seats will also be restored and re-utilised in other parts of the building over time”.
In celebration of the new seating, Pocklington Arts Centre are also offering patrons the opportunity to dedicate a seat in their own name, or with a personal dedication to family or friends, by sponsoring a seat for five years. Further details will be announced early in the New Year and those who sign up before 31st January 2024 will be invited to an exclusive VIP launch event to the unveiling of the remodelled auditorium.
