New Music: Lucy McWilliams – Follow Me

Lucy McWilliams is a Dublin, Ireland-born, London-based singer songwriter who has appeared on this blog once before. It was near the start of this year that we shared her beautiful track Slow Dancing. Now there’s just enough time left in the year to share another one of hers. All about falling in love, it’s called Follow Me.

By Graeme Smith

Follow Me is a track that gives us some exquisite wordplay backed by instrumentals that range from the stripped-back to the lively. It’s all capped off by Lucy’s unique and captivating vocals. She truly is the total package, and it’s easy to see why her music is getting the attention that it is.

Lucy has been writing songs since the tender age of eleven, initially inspired by a performance from Amy Winehouse. By fifteen she was fully dedicated to the craft, learning from listening to legends like Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, Alicia Keys and The Cardigans before studying music formally in Berlin, Germany.
