Whilst Sweet Delusions is a pop song of sorts, it’s also got a massive retro feel, reminding me of the pop and r&b produced within the 60s. It’s great to hear modern artists producing this sort of music still, and Eddy’s strong vocals really suit the style of music. The surf rock style guitar fits around the beat and bass nicely, with a gorgeous string section echoing through the background of the tune, swelling as the chorus hits.
