Discovery: Tony Leonardi

Tony Leonardi is a Chicago, USA-based artist who has just come to my attention through the release of his second single. A song about trying to avoid inner conflict, it’s called I Don’t Care.

By Graeme Smith

Very much a solo project, Tony writes, records and produces all his own music in his apartment. The result is something that feels truly unique and that’s exactly what we get from I Don’t Care. Ostensibly an indie rock song, there’s something about it that sets it apart from the crowd, with an arrangement that brings in elements of electronica, dream pop and hip-hop. It’s the vibrancy of its arrangement that really stood out to me, as well as Tony’s laidback yet emotional vocals.

I’m so glad to have discovered Tony’s music and will certainly be keeping my eye out for more. There really isn’t much like it. I hope you’ll enjoy I Don’t Care as much as I did. You can give it a listen below.
