Washington D.C., USA-based dream pop singer songwriter Heddy Edwards first came to our attention in 2022 yet we’ve not had another chance to share her music since then.
By Graeme Smith
Her latest single black tunnel is her ode to the alternative rock and shoegaze of the ’90s, and explores how poor mental health can cause us to isolate ourselves. It’s a song written very much from her own experience and we can feel the emotional journey on which she has gone in every note, especially during its cathartic crescendo.
Heddy truly has a sound like no other and isn’t afraid to share herself in her music. I’d forgotten how much I loved her sound, so it’s a timely reminder for me. If you’re just discovering her for the first time, you’re in for a treat.
Black tunnel was produced by Alan Day of the band Four Year Strong. You can give it a listen below.
