New Music: Giack Bazz – Only Fans

Giack Bazz first came to our attention last month when Jane included his track Funny Days in her Pride #2 roundup of LGBTQ+ music.

She followed that up shortly after by including his single The Moon Is Painted in her Post Rock #3 roundup, and now it’s my turn to share his music. His new single is called Only Fans and takes its aim at the music industry, calling out its unwillingness to protect grassroots venues and support struggling artists, instead kowtowing to the world of social media influencers.

The title is deliberately provocative, using the sexual element of the OnlyFans platform to make a point about online visibility. Its video, featuring Giack alongside model Alexandra Pinheiro and made in collaboration with @Wannalog, will appear exclusively on the platform. Combining tongue-in-cheek with laidback indie rock, it manages to make a serious point about the direction in which the industry is going, and is enough to cause pause for thought.

Only Fans was recorded at Groundfloor Studios, was mixed by Davide Christiani, and mastered by Luca Tacconi on tape. You can give it a listen below.
