American artist Sophia Lanuza pays homage to her heroes on her new tune, Ben Rector.

It’s clear that Sophia is a fan of Ben’s music on this track, yet she still manages to make the song her own, instead of relying too much on her influences. In terms of music, Ben Rector is an electronic pop song – whilst it should certainly do well in the charts, it’s also remarkably different from much of the mainstream pop music on the airwaves at the moment. A selection of bubbly synth melodies align well with the prominent bassline and beat, as Sophia’s sings along in a glorious way.
