The Savage Hearts are back with a raucous double-A side, Speeding Bullets / Only Lovers Left Alive.
By Graeme Smith
The Savage Hearts are an Ireland-based rock band headed by former The Strypes drummer Evan Walsh and celebrating the (potentially fictional) character of Eddie Cruizer. They’ve featured on this blog several time already this year, with Jane even posing them some questions in the Q&A.
Their latest double release is Speeding Bullets and Only Lovers Left Alive.
Speeding Bullets, co-written with Ste Kelly of Dublin-based Raglans, opens the double-A side in a lively fashion. A swaggering rhythm underpins passionate and characterful vocals that sing of not taking any noise from anyone.
Only Lovers Left Alive ups the tempo even further with an raw and urgent punk number that is full of heartache.
The release was produced by Evan with Pete Holidai and is out now, available to buy on limited edition 7″ vinyl or as a digital download via Blowtorch Records’ Bandcamp page. You can check it out below.
