Gifts of Christmas Exhibition Announced for Bar Convent

Bar Convent Heritage Centre York

28 November – 19 December 2024

Invite your family and friends and celebrate Christmas with joy at the Bar Convent this holiday season! Our historic house is ready to sparkle with a twinkling tree, dazzling decorations, and a brand-new, eye-popping art exhibition as part of this year’s festive theme, ‘Gifts of Christmas!’

We have created an impressive collection of digital art inspired by Viborg, where heritage seamlessly intersects with cutting-edge technology.  Our young creatives are enthusiastic about the opportunity to present their masterpieces at Bar Convent.

In the spirit of the Christmas season, we have been exploring the Gifts of Christmas through Blueberry Academy, disseminating positivity like confetti during this time of goodwill.

Visitors should not overlook the glass cabinet showcasing pop-punk tributes to the Book of Kells and the works of William Blake.  This week, our talented young artists are diligently creating fresh artwork inspired by the Gifts of Christmas, featuring insightful quotes.

Joining the artistic fun are local schools like Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and St George’s RC Primary, along with eager learners from Blueberry Academy, ESOL students from York College.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see this exciting Exhibition in addition to experiencing our beautiful Georgian Parlour dressed for Christmas.

Drawing is the universal language of creativity, and this campaign is all about spreading good vibes and uniting the world—especially during the magical Christmas season.
