Harriet Rose builds on a big year by releasing soul-searching single, From Here.
By Graeme Smith
A Yorkshire lass, Harriet grew up in Sheffield. She’s been gigging since the age of twelve and has supported the likes of The Lottery Winners, Peter Doherty and The Sherlocks as well as festival appearances including Sheffield’s Tramlines. She’s come to our attention for the first time through her latest single, From Here.
As Harriet describes the process of creating the track: “I wrote this song last year when I was at a point in my life feeling completely lost and stuck in a place I didn’t want to be … I am now at a point where I can release this song and say I’ve finally worked it out (for the time being at least.)”
There’s a wonderfully soul-searching feel about it, with Harriet’s vocal contributing its fair share of emotion. A simmering verse builds nicely to a powerful, defiant chorus.
From Here was created with Ed Cosens and Dave Sanderson at Crystal Ship Studios and features Michael Anderson and Calvin Hansen. It was mastered by Sam Proctor at Lismore Mastering. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
