Emma Miller unearths Artifacts with seamless live performance video

British singer songwriter Emma Miller‘s music has been featuring on our pages since 2020, originally catching our attention through her team up with Scott Colcombe, Merry Go Round.

By Graeme Smith

Most recently, we’ve been sharing tracks from her EP Artifacts, which dropped in 2024. Emma has now reimagined the EP as a live performance, taking over Newcastle Civic Centre for a seamless rendition of its five tracks.

In a video directed by Grow Up Sad, we see Emma move her way through the impressive space which provides the perfect acoustics for her dreamy brand of pop. Just A Feeling gets things going, with Emma giving a vulnerable rendition of the haunting track.

Sick & Tired sees her settle at the keyboard for a stirring take of the melancholic, confessional ballad. Outside brightens things slightly through a twinkling composition. Downstairs provides the video’s most striking moment with Emma backed by acoustic guitar before Run completes the performance in reflective style, rendered liltingly on piano.

This live video is such a novel idea, and shows us Emma’s recent EP in a whole new light. She provides a magnetic performance in a beautiful space.

Artifacts is out now and you can give it a listen below.
