Andi Fins delivers timeless pop perfection in new album

Since the autumn of 2024, Berlin, Germany-based singer songwriter Andi Fins has been delighting us with his unique take on pop. Now, for the first time, we can get lost in one of his LPs. His latest is called Cooking, Puzzling, Working.

Opening vibrantly with his previously released single, i want i want, Andi’s new album gets off on the right foot. It’s such a bright and catchy tune with just the right amount of soulful undercurrent. It bleeds beautifully into the warm and laidback How Will You Know? and you really get an early sense that this album is nothing but the highest quality.

Love It brings with it a Talking Heads-esque groove while The Moons Of Saturn serves up a cosmic chill. You Need A Friend is a delicate dedication to friendship. On A Stick sees things slow down for an intimate moment. Only A Kiss is a romantic gem at the heart of the album. Model Of Perfection brings with it some sultriness. Split In Two livens things back up with a hypnotic lo-fi effort. Transition closes the album with perhaps its most out there effort. There’s a certain Radiohead-esque melancholy to it that makes it a final highlight.

I don’t say this lightly: Andi Fins’s new release is an album of the year contender for me. It’s timeless pop perfection.

Cooking, Puzzling, Working is out now, available to buy on vinyl. You can give it a listen below.
