Sometimes the best way to parody something is to become it. Vamilla does this with her insightful new pop track, What Do You Want?

What Do You Want? is cosmic, throwback electronic pop with crystalline keys and delicate, charming vocals. The lyrics are philosophical in the verse before we find some catharsis in the vibrant and uplifting chorus. They tell us to chase our dreams and make a strong case. Yet, dig under the surface and there’s a trace of irony about the story; Vamilla’s scepticism of manifesting culture comes through.
Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Vamilla is the project of Mille Justinussen who is not only a composer and vocalist but also a former winner in Denmark’s version of X Factor. Musically, she has been compared to the likes of Vylet Pony, Yeule and (my personal favourite) Let’s Eat Grandma.
