Very Green gives us poetic, surreal lyrics charismatically delivered and matched by the magnetic performance in the video. The instrumental kicks up a notch for a catchy, bombastic chorus before a dreamy bridge provides some variety. Things get brassy in the finish. It’s the lyrics to which I kept returning though.
“I wrote Very Green about a relationship where we were both so awkward and felt like I couldn’t express myself fully,” the Los Angeles, USA-based artist explains. “And while staying silent, I was acting crazy in my head.”
