Pretending It Fades is an emotive new indie-rock single, signalling an exciting move for The Upsides, acting as a teaser for their upcoming album release, In The Maze. The verses are a little mellower than the choruses, featuring a pulsating bassline and some shimmering guitar motifs. The chorus then takes the song to another level entirely – the drums kick in and everything gets a little bit louder, changing the dynamics to make an anthemic piece of music that should captivate The Upsides’ existing fanbase.
