James Blunt opens his UK and Irish arena tour in Leeds on Friday 26 March 2027, playing First Direct Arena as the first date of a run supporting new album Airplane Mode, out 6 November via Atlantic Records.
It’s a familiar stage for Blunt, who’s returned to the venue with successive album cycles over the years.
The album’s newest single, “Weight of It All”, released today, tackles the pressures of modern life with the same emotional directness that’s defined Blunt’s career since “You’re Beautiful” made him a household name two decades ago. It follows lead single “Tastes Like Summer” and sits among twelve tracks recorded with his long-standing live band at Pig Music Studios in Banbury — sessions Blunt has described as a rediscovery of his creative footing after losing his way for a while.
Other highlights on the record include the sweeping “Circles,” tipped as a future setlist staple, alongside the groove-driven “Oh, Daisy” and the raw “Modern Love.” Backed by the band he’ll be touring with, Airplane Mode promises to bring that studio chemistry directly to the stage.
The Leeds date kicks off an eleven-city run that closes in Brighton on 8 April, taking in a return visit to London’s O2 Arena along the way.
Tickets go on sale from 10am on 9 September 2026.
Airplane Mode is out 6 November 2026, available to pre-order here.
