Stoney Bay Blues is the latest single to be released by Crooked Weather with the track we listened to being the radio edit of the song.
By Jane Howkins
It’s a folk track, with the vast majority of the instrumentation being played via the medium of the acoustic guitar. The female vocals are vaguely reminiscent of those perpetuated by singer-songwriter Laura Marling, and the way the main vocals link up with the backing vocals is simply superb.
It may take a few listens to fully appreciate, but Stoney Bay Blues is a great addition to the current folk catalogue, and anyone interested in the genre should check Crooked Weather out.
