Grace Gillespie – Take Me To The Country

Take Me To The Country is the third track we’ve shared on London-via-Devon singer-songwriter Grace Gillespie, following our love for tracks Restoration and Lady Make Believe.

Grace’s sound is a little bit of a throwback to seventies psych folk in Take Me To The Country though it sounds far from dated. In fact, it feels a little like we’re listening to the future of folk. A relatively simple intro builds up to an expansive, layered chorus with emphatic drums and keys forming a bedrock for Grace’s delicate vocals and distorted guitars. It’s not like much I’ve heard before.

Since Restoration, Grace has picked up some high-profile backing from the likes of Newton Faulkner and NME. You can count us among her fans too. Check out Take Me To The Country below.
