New Music: De Antiquis Et Novis – Alchemy

German experimental electronic artist De Antiquis Et Novis, real name Matthias Schorer, has featured on this blog a few times now, most recently through his transcendent album Afterglow. Now he’s back with a new dance track. It’s called Alchemy.

Alchemy gets you moving straight away with its jumping beat and lively tempo. Yet, it easily sets itself apart from much of the EDM world by drawing from a deep well of influences, including electronic pioneers Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre. It’s a track that tells a story too, and invites you into a bright, colourful world all of its own.

EDM is a genre that gets a lot of bad press, but when done right it can be magical. That’s exactly what Alchemy is. You can check it out below.
