Originally from Italy and now based in Berlin, Germany, Nina Chiodin is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has just hit my radar thanks to her team up with Birmingham-based rapper m-path. It’s called 3.15am.

3.15am is a moody, jazzy piece of R&B. Nina grew up inspired by great singers such as Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holliday and there’s a lot of similar qualities to her voice. Seduction mixes with sadness in 3.15am as it is driven forward by a plodding bass line, gentle percussion and touches of wah-wah. M-path’s rapped verse provides a wonderful sense of texture halfway through.
Nina’s music has everything you’d want from modern jazz and R&B. If that sounds good to you, you can check out 3.15am below.
