New Music: DAAY – Flight

Both Jane and I have shared tracks by London-based alternative rock band DAAY over the past year. Their latest is a meditation on the subject of transformation inspired by the book Jonathan Livingstone Seagull by Richard Bach. It’s called Flight.

Flight is an airy piece of psychedelic rock that exists on a plane all of its own. Meandering bass meets traces of acoustic guitar and moments of jazzy brass. There’s a real sense of movement to it. It rises, falls, dips, dives, twists and turns. Yet, its experimentation is expertly put-together so that you never lose its thread.

DAAY have such an exciting sound. We really can’t recommend them enough here at York Calling. You can check out Flight below.
