Danny Larsen Exhibition Announced for Harrogate

Acclaimed Norwegian artist, Danny Larsen presents his highly anticipated debut solo exhibition at RedHouse Gallery in Harrogate. From The Shadows will offer a rare glimpse of the artist’s new paintings and drawings which are set to go on display for the first time this November.

Following Larsen’s sell-out exhibition at Norway’s Kittelsen Museum in 2021, the show looks set to be another notable moment for the artist and gallery, with collectors travelling far and wide to attend.

From The Shadows will showcase Larsen’s distinctive neo-pointillist style, with his unique meditative stippling effect employed to recreate atmospheric scenes close to his home, outside rural Oslo. The collection will also include two unseen paintings inspired by a recent trip to the Yorkshire Dales. Atmospheric scenes of woodlands, open water and morning frosts construct a sensory duality that Larsen’s describes as “taking the mundane and turning it into magic”.

The artist’s print editions sell out in minutes, and there is now a waiting list for the artist’s original paintings. RedHouse Gallery Director, Richard McTague, comments: “The gallery is honoured to be hosting Danny’s first UK solo show. His paintings remind us to appreciate moment, and so the gallery very happy to share what we feel will be a special moment in the artist’s journey.”

In what has been hinted as “an authentic and immersive experience” the exhibition will be complimented by a short art-house documentary that Larsen produced in collaboration with filmmaker Matt Pain, as well as the publication of a book and print release.

From The Shadows will open at RedHouse Gallery on Saturday 26th November, with Larsen to attend in person.
