It goes without saying that indie rock from the north is hard to measure up to, and it’s something that Hull four-piece BREEZE know all too well. Turning heads both across their native Yorkshire and beyond, even before previous singles Touch the Sky and Eyes Wide Open landed. The four piece have been winning over the masses with their own brand of explosive indie rock, and for the impressive fact the average age of the band is just 18!
The band’s third release finds the four-piece picking things up almost exactly as they left off back in March, Adrenaline is an aggressive and angular offering that aims straight for the jugular and harbours echoes of early Arctic Monkeys.
“I knew I was on to a winner after I wrote the first verse, straight from the get go” explains frontman Albert Anderson. “It just hits you with full force straight away like a proper indie anthem should do. It was a class time recording, we were all just so in our element. And once again, what’s a recording session without a night out? Me and Declan Rodgers ended up off our heads on Stella and Sambuca and ended up in a proper dodgy bar surrounded by women and a taekwondo master. We still don’t know how we got back to the studio the next day!”
Indeed, the energy and urgency of a night out is all too evident throughout Adrenaline’s runtime. It serves as a third example as to why people are starting to get very excited about BREEZE indeed.
