Subterranean Street Society are an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based alternative folk group led by singer songwriter Louis Puggaard-Müller. They’ve caught my attention thanks to a live acoustic performance of their track Fear of Fond Farewells.

Fear of Fond Farewells is about a breakup, or rather the moments that precede it when you come to the realisation that the relationship will end. The emotion is beautifully articulated in this live rendition. There’s an immediacy to Louis’s vocals, and the story of its lyrics come easily to life.
