Amsterdam, Netherlands-based group Subterranean Street Society have been appearing on this blog since around this time last year, and never fail to impress with their subversive form of folk rock. Their latest takes aim at our ever-decreasing attention spans. It’s called Focus On The Melody.

Subterranean Street Society’s latest sees them venture into punk rock akin to Amyl and the Sniffers or IDLES. A stripped-back and shout-along start injects some immediate energy into the track before a cerebral, soul-searching verse gives way to an anthemic chorus where the hook is king, beautifully rendering the track’s message.

Good news for us in the UK! Subterranean Street Society will be touring our fair shores in May next year. Stay tuned for more details. Their new album BLEEP is set for release in March too. In the meantime, you can check out the video for Focus On The Melody below.
