Rock singer songwriter Lizzie Esau has appeared once before on our blog, as part of Jane’s Northern Favourites round up last January. Now it’s my turn to run the rule over her music. Her latest speaks of the inner hatred of being a pushover. It’s called Jellyfish.

Jellyfish opens with an instantly memorable looping guitar riff before Lizzie’s characterful vocals come in, delivering quick fire lyrics during an the opening salvo that is the track’s first verse. Things open during a soaring chorus before we’re head straight back down for the second verse. It’s the kind of track that will have you fist pumping in the air.
Lizzie counts Wolf Alice, Beabadoobee and Radiohead among her influences and fans of those artists will find a lot to love about Jellyfish. You can give it a listen below. If you’re around in Sheffield tomorrow night, you can catch her live at Record Junkie.
