Fledgling is a project fronted by The Holloways’ Alfie Jackson which I first discovered last year. The music is a big part of it, but it’s a little more than that, with the name acting as a label and curator aimed at supporting new artists. Alfie’s new team up sees him collaborating with Berlin-based singer songwriter Sara Hartman and it’s called Flowers on the Pavement.

Flowers on the Pavement is a sad track built around melancholic piano and superb song writing. Sara’s compelling vocals deliver lyrics that are full of wistfulness and imagery; you can easily get lost in them. Though now based in Berlin, Sara is originally from New York, USA and it’s here where the track’s story unfolds.
