The Crystal Teardrop are a Stoke-on-Trent-based garage and indie rock band who has just caught my attention thanks to their psychedelic debut track Nine Times Nine.
By Graeme Smith
The Crystal Teardrop formed around a love for the ’60s – its fashion, its spirit, and most importantly its sound. Taking inspiration from the likes of The Beatles, The Byrds and The Kinks, they’ve created a modern reinterpretation of their sounds in their jangly, dreamy debut track Nine Times Nine.
The Crystal Teardrop are Alexandra Rose Mason, Leon Jones, Stuart Gray, Caitlin Hare, and Connor Wells. With such an instantly recognisable sound and relatable lyrics, I can easily see them making a splash on the UK alternative scene. They’re definitely ones to watch.
