New Music: The Crystal Teardrop – By The River

Stoke-on-Trent-based psychedelic rock band The Crystal Teardrop first hit our radar in April this year thanks to their debut track Nine Times Nine. Taking ’60s inspirations and modernising them, they certainly are an exciting prospect and I’m pleased to welcome them back to these pages. Their latest is called By The River.

Like a lot of music from the ’60s, By The River looks East for its musical inspirations. Featuring sitar by Lucian Thomas as well as mandola, guitars and drums, the track creates a wonderful sense of atmosphere onto which its story of love, loss and the human condition is poured. Dreamy vocals complete the picture.

The Crystal Teardrop are Alexandra Rose on guitar, mandola and vocals, Leon James on lead guitar, Stuart Gray on organ, Caitlin Hare on bass and vocals, and Connor Wells on drums. You can give By The River a listen below.
