Lunavela is a project created by New Zealand-based artist Steve Mathieson – the former frontman of band Collapsing Cities.

Six-out-of-ten friend is the project’s newest release. It’s probably best described as an indie rock song, also adding in elements of several pop sub-genres. The rhythm is one of the things that really characterises this tune, having quite a fast beat until the dreamier chorus kicks in. The track breaks down in the middle, marking a nice change in pace, before the main body of the music remerges. It’s certainly a unique track, which is one of the reasons why I love it so!
