Mina is a London-based soul and R&B artist who first featured on this blog through Jane’s All Jazzed Up roundup earlier this year. Jane also posed her a few questions to get to know her and her music better. Now it’s my chance to cover her music, thanks to new single and a cover of Britney Spears’ Lucky.

Mina has approached this cover with reverence to the original – Mina grew up on a diet of Britney – but also with a fresh take on the track. The pure pop has been replaced with sultry R&B, slowing things down and making them feel nicely intimate.
Mina originally hails from Switzerland but now lives in London. For this single, she’s worked with pianist and producer Nathan Britton at Soho.Live Studios.
