Cat Ryan are a Newcastle-based alternative rock band who have just hit my radar thanks to their powerful and emotive new track Like This.

Cat Ryan are fronted by singer songwriter Mary-Anne, who wrote Like This as a teenager. There’s a sense of teenage drama in its lyrics but nothing immature about its composition with provides a rock groove and earworm guitar hook. It’s a wonderfully absorbing track that combines emotional storytelling with catchy pop rock.
Championed by the likes of Gemma Bradley on BBC Radio 1 and Tom Robinson on Radio 6, Cat Ryan are a band definitely worth keeping an eye on. You can check out Like This below.
