Video: Nównøis – Floating

Nównøis is a Hungary-born, London-based producer, singer and songwriter who prides herself on pushing musical boundaries. She’s just caught my attention thanks to her breath-taking new track and video. It’s called Floating.

By Graeme Smith

Floating explores themes of death, rebirth and freedom through repeating seven lines of lyrics. It opens with isolated vocals and slowly builds with electronic layers before hitting an experimental groove. Nównøis has drawn comparisons with Björk and Kate Bush in the past, but I think there’s something utterly unique about her sound.

The track was written and produced by Nównøis, and mixed by Nównøis with Jose Manuel Cubides. It was also mastered by Jose. The video, created in collaboration with husband and creative partner Pav Pav, sees her lost in an ethereal, water-based other world. You can check it out below.
