Surrey-based artist Imogen Halsey first hit our radar early in 2022 thanks to the release of her debut EP Surrender. We followed up our review of it with a share of her track You And I but it’s been awhile since we last ran the rule over some of her music. That’s all about the change with her new track and video, Echo.

Imogen’s latest explores the modern day phenomenon of 24/7 news and an increasingly polarised society. It encourages critical thinking through a stripped-back, piano-led arrangement. Imogen’s vocals are smooth and expressive and the track’s chorus will certainly stick with you. It’s a beautiful return from her.
Echo is the first single release from Imogen’s upcoming debut album, arriving later this year. It was recorded at Auburn Jam studios. You can check out its music video, filmed in Bristol by Jonathan Eve and directed by Eleanor Pead, below.
