Perth, Australia-based alternative pop rock artist Trent-Jean has appeared on this blog a couple of times before. In 2022, he came to our attention through Jane’s Underground Music From Australia roundup and about a year later I featured his track Cities Burning.

His latest single, Crescent Moon, came to him while adrift on a mega yacht in the middle of the ocean, on which he performed for five months, six nights a week. It’s a song about doomed romance in which he falls for a fellow performer. A soft and delicate rock arrangement hits you right in the feels as the heartbreak unfolds, especially during a powerful and memorable chorus.
