Mercurius is a Morpeth-based rock act of James and Paul Brown, working together with young vocalist Jasmine ‘Jazzy’ Crichton. James & Paul have appeared on our blog before as a duo.

The addition of Jazzy on vocals gives an extra dimension to the project, perfectly complementing those of James for some emotional harmonies in their new single and love story Streetlights. Channelling influences as broad as Don Henley’s Boys of Summer, Radiohead, Simon & Garfunkel and Foo Fighters, there’s a touch of the timeless about the track.
It’s great to have James and Paul back on the blog, and to be introduced to Jazzy. I have to agree with the boys that she’s a star in the making.
Streetlights was recorded at Blast Studios in Newcastle and was mixed and mastered by studio engineer Olly (who also contributed to the drums programming and guitars). It features James Brown and Jasmine Crichton on vocals and Paul Brown on guitars. You can give it a listen below.
