It’s been quite a while since I first started my review series, Here Come the Brits, so I thought it was high time I created the second iteration in the series. Here, you’ll find a vast selection of British bands and artists, hailing from all over the nation. Every act is slightly different in terms of style and genre, so I’m sure you’ll find something to love!

STELL – Don’t Wanna Get Out Of Bed
First up is STELL with their debut release, Don’t Wanna Get Out Of Bed. It’s hard to believe this is their first ever release, as it sounds fantastic, showing good things for the band’s future. The track oozes attitude from the start, having an old school alt-rock sound, featuring some killer riffs, as well as a nice dose of melody. The verses build up slowly until the chorus explodes with energy, making you want to tap your feet along throughout. There’s also some cool vocal effects used here, although they’re not overused, which is definitely a plus for me!

Josh Gregg – Film Noir
Next up is Birmingham-based artist Josh Gregg with his fabulous new tune, Film Noir. It’s a fast-paced electronic song that mixes together a few different EDM styles, making for something incredibly catchy that will get stuck in your head straight away. The beat is fast and frantic, matched in real time by the bassline, whilst a selection of gorgeous synth melodies run through the piece, adding a hint of subtle beauty into the mix. There are some faint vocals that can be heard within the mix, but the music is the real star of the show here.

Red Mercury – Romeo Echo Delta
Next up is Red Mercury, a band that fuses together elements of drum and bass, progressive house, and trance music. Romeo Echo Delta is a perfect example of their sound, showcasing their experimental style of music in a cool way. The track starts with some interesting backing effects, before the throbbing bassline and drums kick in, changing the tone of the piece. The song goes through several different movements as it progresses, keeping your interest constantly piqued! I’m not normally a big EDM fan, but when it’s done this well, I couldn’t help but love it!

Mery’s Key – My Own Way
Italian duo Mery’s Key have an unusual pop sound, with the main instrument used being a funky bass guitar. However, on My Own Way, the group also introduce some cool synths and a nice beat, making for something incredibly groovy that will have you up and dancing in no time. It’s quite an understated sounding tune at times, but the vocals are absolutely stunning, simply soaring over the catchy melodies on offer here. The chorus is particularly astounding, seeing the vocals rise up with great passion and emotion.

Marky Wildtype – Tomorrow
We’ve featured Marky Wildtype a few times before, so it’s great to have him back with new tune, Tomorrow. It’s the fourth single to be released from Marky’s upcoming album, showing off his style well. The track opens with a barrage of sound, before it drops down on the first verse to allow Marky’s vocals to really shine through. There are some lovely guitar arpeggios here, adding a nice touch of melody into the piece. The chorus raises things up a little, but Marky’s vocals remain the focal point of the tune, using some lovely harmonies to elevate them further.
