Yorkshire’s Blue Orchid Reaction release dense, poetic new single

Leeds-based indie rock band Blue Orchid Reaction reflect on the COVID-19 pandemic with image-laden track, Tiny House.

By Graeme Smith

Blue Orchid Reaction have featured a couple of times before on this blog, with their singles Matt’s Got A Job and Under These Skies gracing our pages earlier this year.

Their new single Tiny House shows us the folksy side of their sound, delivering an intimate and thoughtful vignette over just over two minutes. Soulful vocals spin a tale of confinement through visceral imagery while the instrumental alternates between soft and spiky. It’s a wonderfully dense track that demands multiple listens.

The band have got a couple of Yorkshire gigs coming up – at the Parish, Huddersfield on 3 October 2024, and Crank Studios, Morley, Leeds on the 5th. A band with a growing reputation for their live performances, they’ll be shows not to be missed.

Tiny House was produced by Mike Heaton of Embrace and Land Sharks. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
