The Trusted are a UK rock band on the rise. Their last single, Self Destruct, garnered them over 70,000 streams on Spotify. They’ve just released its follow up, The Lightning.

We’re big fans of The Trusted here at York Calling, having been following their career since 2022. The attention their getting is entirely justified – they have a familiar yet unique style of indie rock that means each new track comes with an air of excitement.
The Lightning is no exception, treating us to a rich and emotive instrumental that’s crowned by understatedly powerful vocals. They simply soar leading into the chorus before the track lets loose for its memorable hook. Its poetic lyrics are the icing on the cake.
